Lady Colt varsity volleyball starts season 2-0

Lady Colt Varsity Volleyball beat Ruidoso JV in two sets: 25-12, 29-27. The girls came out strong in the first set and played well together. They fell behind, however, midway through the second set due to serve receive and serving errors. “We had to do some quick lineup changes for this match since one of our setters, Isabelle Manwill, was sick in the Infirmary and unable to travel,” said head coach Stephanie Schooley. “The girls did a good job playing with a new rotation. Alaina Dye stepped up and set all the way around and Kelly White filled in a back row position as well.”

JV lost in 3 sets: 20-25, 25-19, 13-15 to Ruidoso’s C team. “We were down by 10 in the first set and fought our way back to get within 5 points, and were down in the 3rd set 3-13 and almost came back to get the win! Although we spotted Ruidoso too many points in sets 1 and 2, they pulled together as and played as a team to finish each set. I am so proud of them for not giving up!” said coach Schooley.
