The August New Cadets have successfully completed the Bronco Challenge and have turned from New Cadet to Cadet Private. The 28 Day ceremony will be held on January 28. Parents are invited to attend and the schedule of events is listed below:


Schedule of Events for the 28 Day Ceremony

Saturday, 28 January
0600 Reveille
0600 Early BRC for cadets setting up training stations (if needed/requested by Regimental Staff through the DCS).
0630 Breakfast Roll Call (BRC) w/Formation
0730-0745  Movement of RATs to Confidence Course. Upon completion of Confidence Course, RATs move to Fitness Factory.
0730-1140 Regimental Commander / Squadron Commander Training for the Corps minus January RATS and their cadre.
0745-0845 Confidence Course for RATs.  (Families invited)
0900-1030 Fitness Factory for RATs. (Families invited)
930 Ceremony rehearsal (Main Sally Port) refer to Matchin Awards/ Streamer Ceremony LOI for details
1045-1130 Personal time (RATS and their cadre)
1140 Corps forms in Hagerman Barracks (Families invited)
1145-1200 28 Day Ceremony in Hagerman Barracks.  Uniform for all cadets is Class B with Brass (Winter A in case of cold weather).  (Also includes ceremony for Matchin Awards and Troop Streamer awards).
1200 Free DRC
1200-2000 General permits for Spring New Cadets (RATs).  Uniform for all cadets is Class B with Brass (Winter A if cold weather).
1800 Free SRC
Sunday, 29 January
815 Accountability Formation
830 Chapel Pass Available upon Request for RATs
830 Protestant Services in Alumni Chapel.
1300-1700 General Permits for RATs. Uniform for all cadets will be Winter A


We have a bumper crop of pecans this year. All monies received from selling these collected pecans goes towards Cadet Activities. Cadets will be collecting pecans for the next couple of weeks.


The Academic Excellence Dinner to celebrate cadets who were on the Dean’s List or Superintendent’s List the previous semester will be held at 5:30 pm Mountain time on Wednesday, January 18th.  Parents who wish to view the ceremony via live webcast can do so by going to this web link:  http://www.nmmi.edu/parents/index.htm.  The recorded webcast will also be available for viewing after that date via a link on the same webpage.


Help the Corps of Cadets!

Help the Corps of Cadets support the Chaves County Cancer Fund! This Community Service event on the NMMI campus involves the entire Corps of Cadets and is designed to raise cancer awareness and support for victims of cancer in Chaves County. Donations can be made to NMMI Cadet Activities and mailed to 101 W College prior to 1 April. The Cancer Awareness March will be 25 March 2017.

2 May NMMI Spring Concert –  Parents Invited
12 May Academic, Leadership, Athletic Awards Ceremony for Graduating Cadets  – Parents Invited
12 May Baccalaureate – Parents Invited (Begins at 10:00 AM)
13 May High School Commencement 0800, College Commencement – 1100 – Parents Invited (Cadets must clear campus by 2:00 PM)


New Early Warning/Grade Report Options

Beginning this term, high school parents have the opportunity to opt-in to receiving electronic information such as weekly early warning notifications and mid-term/final grade reports for your student. If you would like to take advantage of one or both of these options, please complete the E-Permission Form (PDF reader required) and return to the Registrar’s Office. If you opted in at matriculation, there is no need to complete the form.


The following are scheduled Holiday breaks for the 2016-2017 school year.

*All Dates/Times Subject to Change – Always check with your cadet’s TLA or SLA.

Barracks will re-open at 1700 Saturday – one day prior to the required  return date for all breaks. Bates will not begin serving meals until the supper meal Sunday on the required return date. Infirmary will not be open until 12 pm on the required return date.


 NOTE:  NMMI does not manage commercial bus transportation.

After classes 10 March 2017 until 5:00 PM 19 March 2017

 Cadets MUST depart campus by 10:00 AM on 11 March, no exceptions

Spring Break

Dates/times we provided to bus company are: 

Spring Break; depart NMMI 0600 on SATURDAY 11 March

Depart ABQ for NMMI 1800 on SUNDAY 19 March
